The Eritrean Government's strategy to ensure economic development is founded on reviving the workaholic spirit and productivity of the people that has long been affected by long years of war and natural challenges, and thereby wisely employing every human and material resource of the country to ensure grass-rooted economic growth in a short period of time. Hence, the people of Eritrea, defense force members and national companies are to be commended for their unremitting efforts to promote the integrated development programs in accordance with the set out strategies.
Accordingly, owing to this noble strategy and commitment, the progress registered over the past few years in the domains of infrastructure, food security projects, social service facilities and the construction of buildings is by far overwhelming. The greatest benefit of these development endeavors being undertaken is thus promoting our human capacity and coordination. Undoubtedly, the experiences we have acquired and the lessons we learned from our own work constitute an important asset to add momentum and strengthen the projects undertaken so far, as well as to excel in the upcoming major development projects.
In light of that, the projects embarked for implementation include: promoting food security programs beyond self-reliance, widening the spotlight on animal resources, upgrading roads and tackling related bottlenecks, securing potable water supply and implementing more such projects, maintaining the progress made in the education and health sectors, provide conducive grounds to intensify the sphere, ensuring the provision of electricity and telecommunications services in remote areas, securing excellence in public transport services, promoting coastal and island tourism infrastructure, healing the shortcomings in utilizing marine resources and reinforce its management, and continuing building projects in a more coordinated manner, among others. Furthermore, another very important task still to be implemented soon is employing as much machineries and equipments as possible so as to supplement our endeavors and, above all, reinforcing coordination and management excellence.
Hence, thanks to these integrated development programs, it is an indisputable fact that the people of Eritrea will bid farewell to backwardness and poverty in a very short time and enjoy the benefits of prosperity. Hard work is the source of development!
