The restaurants and the facilities at Domaine les Pailles where at one time, under the stewardship mastery of Roland Maurel, some of the finest to be found in the Southern hemisphere.

Subsequent political interference, total disregard to health and safety issues, over staffing with political appointees and financial mismanagement verging on wholesale corruption, has seen to the demise of these precious resources.

BUT who are GIDC, what is their experience of managing leisure and tourism facilities, what resources do they have? Do they have sufficient funding for the essential repairs to the basic infrastructure; to bring the facilities up to required standards? Will they be able to operate in Mauritius free of political interference, particularly on labour issues?

Domaine Les Pailles needs a caring investor, for the good of the business and the people of Mauritius.
