Asmara — The Eritrean National Cycling Team stood second at country level in the 133 km.-long racing competition of the African Championship race that took place yesterday in Cameroon.
Reports indicated that Eritrean cyclists Dawit Haile, Frekalsi Debesai, Daniel Teklehaimanot, Merhawi Gebrehiwet and Meron Russom stood 6th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th, respectively.
In the racing competition, in which a number of cyclists from 19 African countries took part, South Africa stood first, followed by Eritrea and Morocco.
It is to be recalled that the Eritrean team had scored impressive achievements in the 22-km. chronometer racing that took place on November 9.
