Massawa

In line with the cooperation accord concluded between the Eritrean Southern Red Sea region and the Djiboutian regions of Abuk and Tajura, joint committees of the two sides are holding a 5th regular meeting in Massawa.

In the meeting, the committees assessed the activities carried out in the economic, social, political and security spheres in accordance with the action program charted at the 4th regular meeting, which was held in Djibouti. They also mapped out future action plans, according to Ms. Tsigereda Woldegiorgis, Administrator of the Southern Red Sea region.

The current meeting , which is a continuation of the meetings held previously at the Heads of State and Ministerial level, is aimed at boosting cooperation between the two countries and the two regions in particular.

The Djiboutian delegation that comprises the Administrators of Abuk and Tajura regions is headed by the Secretary of Internal Affairs, Mr. Hassen Omar Ahmed. On arrival in Asmara today, the delegation was welcomed by Maj. General Humed Karikare, Commander of the Eritrean Naval Force, Ms. Tsigereda Woldegiorgis, Administrator of the Southern Red Sea region, and Ambassador Mahmoud Huruy.
