Members of the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) branch in Switzerland held their 2nd congress in Geneva, during which they commended the vigorous efforts the people and the Government are making in the development drive. They also pledged to back up these endeavors and safeguard the nation's sovereignty.

Following discussions on a two-year work report of the Union, the participants adopted a number of resolutions including the construction of NUEW training center in Tessenei and nurturing dynamic young women who can chair the union. Moreover, they elected a 13-member Executive Committee for the next two years.

A number of representatives of the Eritrean Consulate, the PFDJ and the Union from different Swiss cities, including the Chairperson of NUEW in Europe, Ms. Mebrat Habte, attended the congress.
