In line with the on-going efforts to expand educational opportunities in all parts of the country, two junior schools have been opened in the Kerkebet sub-zone, Anseba region.

The head of the Education Ministry's branch in the region, Mr. Abdalla Ahmed, indicated that the opening of the new schools in the Amlayot and Himbol administrative areas would made due contribution in promoting education in the region. He said that previously students who were promoted to junior and high schools were compelled to travel to boarding schools in Asmat, Dekemhare, Nacfa, Agordat and Forto in order to continue their studies.

He further disclosed that there are plans to open a new elementary school in the Yakarie administrative area, and that more than 170 children have already been registered to attend primary classes.
