The Hamelmalo College of Agriculture secured books and laboratory equipments in a donation from the Australian government.

Dr. J. Kumens, an Australian national, handed the donation. The Dean of the College, Mr. Semere Amlesom, stated that the Australian government has been cooperating with the College in research undertakings, training of farmers and in transfering technology in line with the agreement concluded with the Government of Eritrea.

Mr. Semere said that the College looks forward to receiving a number of agricultural machineries next year in assistance from Australia.

The Hamelmalo Agriculture College opened in July 2005 and more than 1,260 students are currently pursuing degree and diploma courses in different fields of agriculture science.
