Nigeria: Ijaw Youth Leaders Want JTF Withdrawn from N-Delta

Lagos — Yenagoa-Ijaw youth leaders want men of the Joint Task Force (JTF) withdrawn from the region, saying their continued presence has not stopped militants from invading oil platforms and disrupting operations.

Led by the former national vice president of the Ijaw Youth Council, Comrade Oyinfie Jonjon, Ijaw youth leaders said though the issue of militarization could be done with proper provisions of barracks and camps in the Niger Delta but lamented that the invasion of villages and communities by the military 'is uncalled for and provoke violent reaction from aggrieved youths."
