Eritrea: President Holds Talks With Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister

President Isaias Afwerki today received and held talks with an Iranian delegation headed by Mr. Mohammed Reza Bagheri, Deputy Foreign Minister.

The two sides discussed ways of deepening Eritrean-Iranian relations and prospects of cooperation in the domains of trade and investment. Moreover, they held discussion on current regional and international issues.

Commending the positive role Eritrea had played to promote peace in East Sudan and its on-going contribution in the Darfur issue, the Iranian official asserted that his country fully supports such endeavors aimed at promoting peace among Sudanese brothers.
