Rwanda Defends Commonwealth Bid

Kampala — RWANDA'S aspiration to join the Commonwealth is not intended to shut out Francophone practices and the French language, its state minister for cooperation Rosemary Museminari has said.

According to the Rwandan daily, The New Times, Museminari said Rwanda's policy was to remain a multi-lingual nation whose citizens speak English and French and the native kinyarwanda and Swahili.
