Uganda: Juliana Gets Personal With City Beat Fans

Kampala — AS soon as the Queen of England set foot in Uganda, so did the queen of Ugandan music step into Club Pa-Lui in Ntinda to party with City Beat readers. City Beat and Club beer saved the best for the last, by making Juliana Kanyomozi's party the last in the year.

The winners of the draw were all rewarded, albeit in different ways. One won a chance to write a song for Juliana.

Ronnie Musenze came from Jinja just to prove whether his superstar is a human being with blood flowing in her veins. He got more than proof when Juliana picked him out for a dance. He almost went breathless, and remained revelling in that experience until the wee hours of the morning.

Bosco Kikwanda's excitement was torn between the sh100,000 MTN airtime and meeting Juliana. He intended to ask Juliana for her number, but in that moment of exaltation he forgot. He only remembered after she had left.

Brenda Tugaineyo wanted an interactive session with Juliana and begged journalists to keep off so she could feel relaxed. She got what she asked for. Juliana revealed much about herself in that moment of privacy.

Juliana said if she met Queen Elizabeth II, she would ask her for the secret behind keeping her marriage stable for 60 years. The songstress sang an acapella of her first song, when she was only in S.1. Juliana is also going to produce a video of You are my centre, a song she recorded when she was six months pregnant and dedicated it to her son.

She only left out the questions that she considered "too personal". But she physically got personal. She danced with everyone and posed for pictures with anyone. Camera shyness was thrown to the wind.

The winners took home Juliana's autographed CD, T-shirts and caps from Nile Breweries.
