Nigeria: Navy Arrests 'Merchant Navy' Chief

Lagos — Controversy continues to trail the arrest and detention of leader of the Nigerian Merchant Navy, (NMN), Commodore Benson Edema, by Nigerian Navy officers attached to NNS Beecroft, Apapa Lagos.

Director of Information (DINFO), Nigerian Navy, Captain Henry Babalola, yesterday said Edema and members of his group are illegally giving military training to unsuspecting Nigerians, training them on arms handling and extorting money in the process.
