Uganda: Gulu High School Students Strike, Burn Teacher's House

Kampala — Students of Gulu High School went on strike on Tuesday burning the house of Oringa Magezi, a teacher, who is also the vice-chairperson of the school disciplinary committee.

They also broke the dining and staff room windows. This prompted the administration to call the Anti-riot Police, which ordered the students out of the school. The students said they had complained of poorly-cooked food but the school authorities had ignored them. The district education officer, Joe Acire, said the school was temporarily closed because they feared that the students would strike again.
