Eritrea: Country Participates in CPA and ACP-EU Meeting in Rwanda

Eritrea participated in the 10th parliamentary meeting of the African Caribbean and Pacific countries (ACP) that was held in Rwanda, as well as that of the 14th Joint ACP and EU parliamentary meeting.

Following in-depth discussions on papers presented by the committees dealing with economy and development, social, cultural and political affairs, the participants adopted significant resolutions.

Reports indicated that open discussions and debates on the Somali issue were conducted so as to enable the participants have a clear and correct understanding of the issue. Eritrea has been elected as member of the permanent political committee, reports added.

As regards the joint parliamentary ACP-EU meeting, the participants adopted resolutions and declarations regarding economic, political and social issues. They also decided that the 15th meeting be held in Slovenia in March 2008.
