Seychelles: Secretary-General holds talks with President and Vice-President

Commonwealth Secretary-General Don McKinnon, who was on an official visit to Seychelles from 27 to 28 November 2007, held talks with President James Michel and Vice-President Joseph Belmont.

The Secretary-General also met the Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Herminie and Opposition Leader Wavel Ramkalawan.

They discussed a range of issues including the outcomes of the recent Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kampala, Uganda, from 23 to 25 November, as well as governance issues, parliamentary matters and local politics.

Mr McKinnon also toured the Mahé fishing port to discuss a traffic study sponsored by the Commonwealth Secretariat.
