Nacfa

A 5,700,000 Nakfa benefit scheme has been paid to families of fallen heroes in the Nacfa and Afabet sub-zones, Northern Red Sea region, according to Hibtai Guesh, head of the scheme in the sub-zones.

He said that more than 2,000 families became beneficiaries of the scheme over the period from 2006 to 2007. Noting that the families used to face transportation problems, among others, since they were traveling to Massawa to receive the payments, Mr. Hibtai pointed out that an office has now been opened in Afabet and that the families are being paid in their respective villages.

Similarly, as part of the initiative by the Eritrean nationals living abroad to support martyrs' families, 62,000 Nakfa has been paid to families of fallen heroes in the Nacfa sub-zone, according to reports. The beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction with the support extended to them by the Government and nationals abroad.
