Kampala — Smile Africa, a Christian charity, has donated six sewing machines to Karimojong residents in Tororo district.
The offer meant specifically for Karimojongs in Western Division, was handed over recently by Ruth Kahawa, the director of the charity.
She revealed that the machines worth sh1.5m were donated to the charity by Danish volunteers working with the Red Cross.
"We thank the donors for this timely offer. We hope the skills acquired will go a long way into bettering the lives of our brothers and sisters."
Smile Africa has been taking care of the Karimojong, giving them shelter and food.
