Eritrean nationals residing in the US city of Oakland and its environs underscored that the US Administration's closure of the Eritrean Consular and Community Affairs Office in Oakland will not dissociate their attachment with the Homeland at all.

They also underlined that they will not be discouraged by the Administration's futile intimidation designed to break their deeply rooted link with their people and Government and to hamper contributions.

The Eritrean nationals reiterated their firm patriotic stance in a meeting they held on December 1 as part of the on-going public meetings being conducted inside the country and abroad. Moreover, they reiterated their readiness for any eventuality.

A paper presented by Ms. Sophia Tesfamariam, an Eritrean intellectual from Washington DC, appraised participants of the meeting about the steadfast struggle being waged by the people and Government of Eritrea on one hand, and the conspiracies weaved by the mercenary TPLF regime and its masters on the other. She further stressed the need for all Eritreans residing abroad to keep vigilant as the present stage is a moment of resistance.

Stating that they fully stand alongside the members of the Defense Force and are determined to live up to expectations, the participants of the meeting decided to contribute USD 500 each.
