LEE Roy Lunga Kamusena, the former Chazezesa Challengers lead guitarist, will spend the greater part of the festive season in Mozambique and Malawi for some tribute shows dedicated to the departed Tazvidas - System and Peter.

System passed away in 1999 while his younger brother Peter died in 2002.

Kamusena said that Smoko music regional fans, especially radio DJs, invited him for some tribute shows in memory of the late bandleaders.

The singer kicks off his regional tours with some shows in Mozambique from December 18 till 25.

Kamusena, who will be promoting his forthcoming album Anga Ari Pano due for release soon, proceeds to Malawi on Christmas Day before returning to Zimbabwe on the New Year's Day for a show at Mukumbura Border Post.

"I am glad that the tour comes at a time when the court has granted me the right to use the name Chazezesa Challengers.

"As you are aware, the fight over the use of the name had left both our local and regional fans divided but the issue is now water under the bridge," said Kamusena.

This is not the first time Kamusena will be touring Mozambique after spending the greater part of this year in the neighbouring country where he commands a huge following.

"Mozambique for us resembles a second home and we hope to consolidate the fan base we enjoy there.

"I know the challenges that lie ahead with so many stories making rounds but I am glad that I have the courage to move on because I have seen it all before," he added.

Despite the courage he has shown in ensuring that the band lives on, his biggest let down has been losing many youngsters whom he had groomed to big groups.
