Cameroon: Social Dialogue, Important Tool for Conflict Resolution

The first ever elected staff representatives in Bamenda have agreed to use social dialogue as a tool for conflict resolution in their respective leadership establishments. This was one of the resolutions arrived at during a training seminar for new staff representatives.

The seminar was aimed at exposing the role of the staff representatives, trade unions and the employers to increase productivity at the enterprise through social dialogue so as to create more job opportunities as a way to reduce poverty in the North West Province. Organized by the Confederation of Cameroon Trade Union (CCTU), the seminar brought together over 50 participants who all stood for crises prevention and not to invest in crises management.
