Ethiopia: Embassy Donates Closings to Commemorate Korea War Veterans

The Korean embassy in Addis Ababa on Saturday donated closings to the low-income families of the Korean War veterans.

Making the donations to over 700 beneficiary families at a monument of the Korean veterans, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea Park Hee-Seon said The Korean government was participating in different social affairs and development activities in the country.

He said the Korea has built a memorial hall, schools and has erected monument in recognition of the service of Ethiopian soldiers in Korea and as part of the friendly relations between Korea and Ethiopia.

The First Secretary added the donation forms part of efforts to promote friendship with the participating countries of Korean War and Commemorate Sisterhood relationship between the cities of Chuncheon (Korea) and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).

He said the diplomatic relationship between Ethiopia and Korea was too strong as it was built on "blood and life sacrifice." The Vice President of Korean Veteran's families Commander Major Getachew H/Michael said on the occasion the humanitarian gesture from Korean embassy confirmed the commitment of the Korean government and people, as witnessed on several occasions.

The aid commemorates Ethiopian fighters who fought gallantly on Korea soil.
