Zimbabwe: All Set for CBZ a Academy Finals

Harare — The CBZ A Academy journey ends in style tomorrow when all the five contestants will arrive at the Celebration Centre in Harare for the final concert but only one of them passes through the gate to glory.

Riding the train to the final destination are Sindisiwe Thembe Hlazo, Mkhululi Bhebhe, Joseph Lugube, Tinashe Chitsaka and Simbarashe "Simplex" Risinamhodzi. Although all of them will disembark laden with prizes, only one will fly to stardom when all this has died down. The one who will fly away, will tomorrow take home $1billion cash, an international business class air ticket from Air Zimbabwe, a single bed plus Duvet set, a fridge from Jaggers and an 18-piece dinner set.

The second high flyer gets $250 million cash, an international business class Air ticket from Air Zimbabwe and gifts from Jaggers Wholesalers with the third runner-up receiving $200 million cash, an international business class ticket from Air Zimbabwe and Jaggers Wholesalers gifts. The fourth placed wins $150 million cash, an international business class air ticket from Air Zimbabwe and Jaggers Wholesalers gifts while the fifth gets $50 million cash, a regional business class air ticket from Air Zimbabwe as well as Jaggers Wholesalers gifts.

This year's contest is as open as the skies because all the finalists have promised to be the ONE who will fly high. "I have been into music for quite some time but one of my problems was that at times I felt shy when I stood before an audience. This worked against me quite a lot. "But ever since I came to the 'A' House, things have changed. I have received a lot of training on how to conduct myself when performing, voice projection, and just being a well rounded artist. This has made me a totally different person and right now I can perform before any crowd and wow them," says Bhebhe.

Sindisiwe Thembe Hlazo says she is a totally new package and those coming to the final concert should look forward to seeing a polished act from a polished music star. "Naturally, I am a very reserved person. But when I sing, I kind of feel complete. Music just brings out the other part of me. The 'A' House has given me great training and enormous experience and I am looking forward to a great day on Friday," Sindi said.

"This is the moment I have been waiting for. I am glad I made to the final five this time around. I have waited for it for a long time and I am sure I have everyone behind me. I am looking forward to their votes," says Joseph who together with Mkhululi and Tinashe fell out of the competition in the top ten last year. Tinashe feels he deserves a "place in the final five" and looks "forward to a memorable performance on the night of the final concert." "I have no doubt I command a good following and I am going to thrill my fans on the day."

Simbarashe "Simplex" Risinamhodzi who also took part in the competition last year believes he wouldn't have come this far if it wasn't for the grace of God.

"I think I can only say it is by the grace of God that I have reached this stage of the competition. All the votes that I have received have only come my way because the Almighty made it possible. I wouldn't have come this far if it wasn't for Him."
