Prime Minister Ephraim Inoni yesterday, 5 December received Burundi's special envoy, Minister, Senior Adviser in charge of Economic Affairs at the Presidency of the Republic of Burundi, Herman Tuyaga.

He was the bearer of a special sealed message from Burundi's President, Pierre Nkurunziza to his Cameroonian counterpart, President Paul Biya.

The special envoy was accompanied to the Prime Minister's Office by the Director in charge of Relations with Africa in Burundi's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ernest Ndabashinze and an Adviser at the Presidency of the Republic of Burundi, Ode Ndayisaba.

After the audience, the special envoy did not disclose to journalists the content of the sealed message destined to Cameroon's Head of State, Paul Biya. Minister Herman Tuyaga expressed satisfaction at Cameroon's instrumental role in welcoming Burundians on exile when the country was plagued by war and also the conducive environment given Burundian students. According to him, after many years of war, the country was now undergoing reconstruction with the repatriation of refugees featuring prominently. But socio-economic reconstruction, he said "is an immense task that needs huge funds". The Burundian special envoy told journalists that peace had fully returned to the country and urged friends of Burundi to continue supporting it on the path of peace.
