Eritrea: Development Activities Being Stepped-Up in Emni-Haili Sub-Zone

Emni-Haili — The inhabitants of 16 administrative areas in the Emni-Haili sub-zone are stepping up development activities focusing on soil and water conservation.

The head of the Ministry of Agriculture branch in the sub-zone, Mr. Abraha Hadgu, indicated that about 50,000 cubic meters of embankments have been constructed and 187 km-long terracing put in place through popular campaign. He also said that a 18 km-long dirt road linking Gudba Badm with Adi Berunder is under construction.

Previously, the inhabitants of the aforementioned localities were encountering social service problems due to lack of suitable roads. More than 100,000 people are taking active participation in the undertaking.
