Kenya: Ethnic Clashes Could Disrupt Polls, Says Church

Nakuru — Thousands of voters in Kuresoi Constituency, in Nakuru Diocese are unlikely to cast their ballots because the government has been unable to stop the clashes and residents have fled the area, the Catholic Justice and Peace Commission (CJPC) has warned.

In a report released last Wednesday, the Nakuru diocese CPJC Executive Secretary Mr. Ernerst Murimi also disputed government reports that only 16 people had been killed saying that their tallying indicated that 24 people had lost their lives.
