Two confederations of trade unions which have been on strike for the last five days have decided to continue their strike despite the release of their members in Cankuzo and Ruyigi.

This was announced yesterday after the assessment of the five-day strike. These confederations deplore that the government has made no effort to dialogue with strikers within the last five days. They also called on the Parliament to analyse deeply the recent decree that was signed by the President of the Republic on 28 November 2007 and which grants bonuses ranging from 700,000 francs to 1,350,000 to workers of the upcoming anti-corruption court.

These confederations have called on all members these confederations to stay home during this unlimited strike that will start on Monday. The minimal service will not be insured except in the ministry of Public Health.
