Addis Ababa — The Canadian Civil aviation authority recently inspected the Ethiopian airlines and the Ethiopian Airport Administration Enterprise.

Ethiopian asked for an operating license which would enable it to start flight services to Toronto. At a press conference held Wednesday, Girma Wake, Ethiopian CEO, said the Canadian aviation experts audited the maintenance and ground handling services, the structures of Ethiopian and the Airports Administration Enterprise.

The experts finalized the audit and returned to Canada last week. "They would inform us of the results of the audit within a month," Girma said. "If there are certain things that we should rectify, we have to do that within three months," he added.

Meanwhile the management of Ethiopian is planning to increase its number of destinations to 60 from the existing 53 by 2010. Ethiopian plans to start flights to Equatorial Gunea, Kuwait, Riyad, Toronto, South Korea, and Malaysia. The company also plans to add two additional destinations in the US.
