THE Government should promote local investors in education to lift standards, Kawempe South MP Latif Ssebagala has said.

"We should support our local investors, especially those who have come up in the education sector, Ssebagala said while officiating at Bright Junior School's annual speech day recently.

He said: "Investors in Uganda are not cared for. Instead, money is being given to foreign investors. We should provide capital for Ugandan investors."

He told parents and teachers that they should strive to promote the talents of children, especially in the field of music, dance and drama, which he said is one of the ways that people are earning a sustainable living.

Ssebagala applauded the director of the school, saying he had brought development to the area.

The director, Justine Bakkabulindi, called on fellow women to emulate her and start their own businesses that can sustain them.
