Mendefera — Members of the Central region Assembly conducted a visit in the Southern region from December 7 to 8 to observe development and infrastructure projects. In connection with the on-going efforts to achieve food security, the Assembly members voiced their appreciation to the dedicated endeavors being made to this end and the encouraging achievements so far registered.
In the course of the visit, they observed major micro-dams in the sub-zones of Dubarwa, Emni-Haili and Adi-Quala, as well as a water diversion scheme constructed in Tsorona by the local inhabitants and members of the Defense Force.
Moreover, the Assembly members visited different development schemes including the Quatit-Adi Keih and Igla-Demhina roads. The Chairman of the Central region Assembly, Mr. Abraham Semere, expressed admiration for the impressive accomplishment in the construction of these roads.
They also visited the historical sites of Kohaito and Belew-Kelew, during which they received briefings. It is to be recalled that the Assembly members earlier conducted a similar visit in Gash-Barka region.
