14 December 2007

Luanda — Angolan deputy minister of Industry, Abraão Gourgel Friday left Luanda for the People's Republic of China, for a week-visit aimed at prospecting the market of equipment for the supply of solar energy.

Speaking to ANGOP at "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport, the deputy minister explained that he will, among others, search in China for the equipment for solar energy production for electricity supply.

Abraão Gourgel informed that the equipment is bound for the northern Uíge province, as part of the programme of improvement of the population's living conditions.

"Should the project become operational, it will also be extended to other provinces of the country", stressed the official, who is also co-ordinator of the government's follow up team to Uíge province.
