Kampala — Uganda and DR Congo are yet to reach an agreement of the joint exploration of oil resources in Lake Albert where commercially-viable deposits of oil and natural gas have been found.
Senior government officials from the neighbouring countries meeting in Kampala this week have failed to reach a deal on solutions to a border row over the oil deposits.
A major conference opened in Kampala and was expected to culminate into an initial working agreement, but it emerged yesterday that the two parties had failed to reach an agreement on joint operations in the region.
Following the discovery of oil in both the Ugandan and Congolese armies have been deploying heavily around the shores, with some observers saying there is now a threat of all-out war.
