Golij

More than 1,000 rehabilitated families in Kotobia, in the Golij sub-zone, are showing a significant improvement in their standard of living thanks to Government assistance worth 4 million Nakfa and because of this year's satisfactory rainfall, according to Mr. Amine Berhane, head of the Ministry of Agriculture branch in the sub-zone.

He indicated that 2 hectares of land and the necessary agricultural tools have been extended to each family with the aim of enabling the beneficiaries to become self-supporting. The beneficiaries are nationals who had been rehabilitated since April 2007 in the administrative areas of Dereisa, Sabunait, Gergef, Tebeldia, Aklalat and Golij.

Similarly, each family has been given 6,000 Nakfa for the building of residential houses and that the assistance would continue, Mr. Amine added.
