Burundi lost its semi-final football match against Sudan today in Dar es Salaam. Sudan won by a score of two to one. Burundi defeated Eritrea in the quarter finals by a score of two to one.

Burundi's national team, Intamba, played in bad conditions. The weather in Dar es Salaam provided difficulties for many Burundian players. The temperature in Dar es Salaam rose to 39°C while the temperature in Bujumbura is now near 35°C. Seven of the players that represented Burundi in the SECAFA competition have already shown symptoms of malaria.
