Eritrea: Nationals in Kenya And Different Parts of the U.S. Reiterate Readiness to Live Up to the Nation's Expectation

Eritrean nationals residing in Kenya and different parts of the US reiterated their readiness to live up to the nation's expectations. In public meetings they conducted in their respective areas, the nationals commended the major development programs being implemented through the coordinated efforts of the people and the Government, especially in the on-going endeavors to achieve food security and promote social justice.

Lauding the Eritrean Government's efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, the participants of the separate meetings reaffirmed their resolve to meet any eventuality, in addition to stepping up the national development drive.

In the Nairobi meeting, the Eritrean Ambassador to Kenya, Mr. Saleh Omar, gave briefings on the objective situation in the Homeland and the region, during which the participants donated 72,000 US dollars in expression of their support to their people and government.

Moreover, in the meetings that were conducted in the US cities of Santa Rosa, Charlotte and Washington D.C., the participants pledged to meet any eventuality. Eritrean intellectuals presented papers at the meetings characterized with patriotic spirit.

Reports indicated that as a token of their support to the people and Government, the Eritrean citizens living in Charlotte, North Carolina, contributed USD 50,000, while those in Santa Rosa, California, donated USD 67, 000.

In the meeting conducted in Virginia, the Eritrean Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Girmai Gebremariam, gave briefings on the prevailing situation in the Homeland and the region, as well as the diplomatic activities and the progress so far registered in the national development drive.

Similarly, Eritrean nationals residing in the Dutch city of Utrecht held a similar meeting, during which the Eritrean Consul, Mr. Solomon Mahari, gave briefings on the objective situation in the Homeland.
