Any one into soccer would immediately recognize such names as Bayer Leverkusen, BVB Dortmund, FC Bayren Muenchen, FC Shalke. These famous German clubs were involved in a charity bazaar that was held at the Egyptian Embassy last Sunday.

The bazaar organized by the wives of Ambassadors of the 64 countries represented in Ethiopia.

The players of Bayer Leverkusen, and BVB Dortmund in particular contributed to the occasion by providing autographed soccer balls and club jerseys which were presented for auction.

"The clubs as well as the players were very enthusiastic to be part of this and were more than happy to provide the balls and the jerseys," Mrs. Monika Knoop wife of the German Ambassador told The Reporter.

In addition to the football clubs other German companies such as BASF, Faber-Castel AG, Lambertz and Shwartauer Werke were also involved.

"I would also like to thank Ethiopian Airlines which transported all these materials free of charge and also the Hilton Hotel," Mrs. Knoop said.
