Eritreans residing in Khartoum, Sudan, reaffirmed their commitment to safeguard their nation's sovereignty through steadfastly meeting any eventuality. They expressed their readiness at a public meeting held on December 21.

The Eritrean Ambassador to Sudan, Mr. Issa Ahmed Issa, gave briefings to the participants on the prevailing situation in the Homeland and the region, as well the achievements so far registered in national development endeavors and in the diplomatic arena.

Lauding the Government's efforts to promote social justice and achieve food security, the participants of the meeting asserted that they would boost their contribution in on-going national reconstruction and development programs. In expression of their support to the people and Government of Eritrea, the nationals donated about 27 million Jinee.

Reports also indicated that a similar meeting was conducted on December 14.
