At a dinner reception they hosted in the NCEW Hall here in the capital, Eritrean mothers who used to live in Italy wished fellow nationals peace and prosperity in 2008.

Ministers, PFDJ heads, representatives of national associations and other invited guests attended the reception. The mothers also reiterated their readiness to meet any eventuality through reinforcing national unity.

In expression of their respect and goodwill, they presented a souvenir to President Isaias Afwerki. It is to be recalled the mothers extended financial and other contributions to the EPLF in the days of the armed struggle. Moreover, in the post-independence period, they are still making significant contributions, including the reconstruction of the martyrs' cemetery in Shambuko that was destroyed by the invading forces of the TPLF regime.
