The funeral service of the late veteran fighter Mohammed Omar Abdalla (Abutiara) was today conducted in Tessenei in the presence of senior government and PFDJ officials. The late patriot passed away this morning at the age of 79 due to illness.

Born in 1928 in Orotta, veteran fighter Mohammed Omar Abdalla (Abutiara) joined Hamid Idris Awate in 1961 and rallied other compatriots behind the liberation struggle and served the supreme cause in different capacities.

Present at the funeral service at the Tessenei Patriots Cemetery were General Sebhat Ephrem, Defense Minister, Mr. Al-Amin Mohamed Seid, PFDJ Secretary, Mr. Tesfai Gebreselasie, Minister of Energy and Mines, Mr. Ahmed Haj Ali, Minister of Fisheries, and Ms. Askalu Menkerios, Minister of Labor and Human Welfare, as well as other senior government and PFDJ officials, Army commanders and thousands of citizens.

The late veteran fighter Mohammed Omar Abdalla (Abutiara) is survived by 8 children.
