Ilorin — The Kwara State Police Command has appointed ASP Simire Hillary as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO).
A statement issued by the state police commissioner, Alhaji Audu Abubakar, and made available to Daily Trust yesterday stated that Hilary was appointed as the new PPRO following the transfer of his predecessor Gideon Markus to Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The new PPRO, who is a graduate of Philosophy from the University of Lagos, was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 1st of March, 1991 and was appointed Cadet ASP on February 1, 2005.
The statement said that he was commissioned at Police Academy August 6, 2006 and posted to Kwara State Police Command.
Hilary, who has since assumed office, called for the support and cooperation of citizens in the state, especially the media.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Audu Abubakar, has expressed support to the ongoing education reform in the state.
The police boss, who urged Nigerians to see police as their partner-in-progress, called on them to always report acts of indiscipline, criminal acts and thuggery to the police.
Abubakar, however, enjoined the men and officers of the police to follow statutory procedures in discharging their duties.
