Nigeria: Governor Ali Donates to Accident Victims

Yobe — Governor Mamman Bello Ali of Yobe State has donated N1.6m and 28 bags of assorted grains to the families of eight auto crash victims at Gashua.

The accident victims, all ANPP members, died in a multiple auto crash while travelling to Damaturu for an official engagement.

Presenting the cash and materials Tuesday in Gashua, the governor said each of the deceased's families was entitled to N60, 000 while N50,000 each was to be presented to the people that sustained injuries in the accident.

Food items which included 28 bags of rice, millet and beans would be distributed to the survivors of last October auto crash on Damaturu-Gashua road, he added.

The governor said the government had taken the responsibilities of educating the children of the deceased. Similarly, Bade Local Government Area of the state has assisted the families with 14 bags of rice.

The council vice chairman of the ANPP, Alhaji Ali Awali Geidam, thanked the state government for coming to the aid of the victims.

Meanwhile, the Yobe State All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) has taken the responsibilities of educating the children of four party members that died in an auto crash last Saturday while travelling from Gashua to Damaturu.These were contained in a press statement signed by the director of press to the deputy governor, Mallam Aminu Usman, and made available to Daily Trust yesterday.

The four persons that died, according to the statement, included the Bade ANPP secretary, Garba Dala; Mohammed Jimbo, Tukur Kaji and Garba Tigali while the council vice chairman, Ibrahim Kolo, and three others sustained various degrees of injury.
