Nigeria: Ribadu Splits Senators

Abuja — Senators have put President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua on the spot, saying that the removal of Mallam Nuhu Ribadu from his beat at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) should not derail the anti-corruption crusade.

While Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba (SAN), the Senate deputy majority leader, expressed appreciation for the efforts made by Ribadu in the anti-graft war and called for a sustenance of his efforts, Senator Dahiru Awaisu Kuta (PDP, Niger East) expressed reservations on the removal explaining that it was bound to reverse the recent strides made in the anti-graft war.
