Kampala — Ugandans might have thought that it was merely a dream, when two years ago they heard that Uganda would host the Queen of Britain and the 53 heads of government of the Commonwealth countries. But soon everybody realised that Uganda was indeed anointed to host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
CHOGM is now a memorable event in the history of the country, thanks to the tenacity of President Yoweri Museveni and his government. Attention is now cast on Museveni as chairman of the Commonwealth.
