Angola: Fairs, Showing of Films and Exhibits to Mark National Culture Week

Angola's National Culture Week, which starts on 06 January 2008, will be marked by the holding of several activities, with highlight to a culture and arts fair, plastic arts expositions, showing of film sessions, a dance festival and regional seminars on management of archives, among other things.

According to a press note from the Culture Ministry (Mincult), which is the governmental department tasked with organising the activities around the celebration of the January 08 date (National Culture Day), the main events in the commemorations will take place in the south-western Namibe Province.

In this ambit, in the mentioned province will be inaugurated the local historical archives, a photographic documental exhibition and the presentation of a monograph on Namibe Province.

There will also be a free music concert with a variety of artists, on January 08, an event that is intended to be one of the high points in the commemoration of the referred date.
