Nairobi — PNU has told ODM to seek legal redress, saying only a court could order re-tallying of votes.
Kanu chairman, Mr Uhuru Kenyatta, Cabinet ministers, Mr Amos Kimunya and Mr Raphael Tuju, and PNU campaign manager, Mr George Nyamweya, also blamed the Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK) chairman, Mr Samuel Kivuitu, for the election crisis.
"We won the election and whoever feels aggrieved should go to court and we will be available for response. It's not our responsibility to initiate dialogue," said Uhuru.
This comes a day after the ODM leader, Mr Raila Odinga, said he had no trust in "Kibaki courts".
PNU also urged the Opposition to calm its supporters.
"ODM should call on their supporters to stop committing these atrocities," he said.
Nyamweya said according to the law, Kibaki had won the election since he was declared winner and sworn in.
"ODM should not set conditions that cannot be met. They must respect the law and go to court and we will then table our evidence," he added.
Speaking at a charged Press conference in Nairobi on Wednesday, the leaders insisted that the President would not resign.
At one time, Kimunya and Uhuru had to calm Tuju down.
A CNN reporter had infuriated the Foreign Affairs minister for challenging the legality of the Kibaki win.
Tuju said the Government had not invited any foreigner to arbitrate between Kibaki and Raila.
Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa and Ghanaian President John Kuffor were said to be on the way to start talks on the request of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
He added that South African and Ghanaian missions were not aware of the plan.

African leaders spend the nations wealth to conduct elections they know they will rig. they will ask the oponent to got to court where the chief judge will confirm that the loser actually won. It happens in Nigeria and other countries of africa. All are learning bad things from my country Nigeria. Shame to that old man Kibeki and Obasanjo. Kingsley Opara(Ukraine)
I am really surprised. The East African standard reported that already the tallying forms kept at Kenyatta international Conference center KICC dissapeared. If a court process comes on board, new forms will be filled or have already been filled by the officers to actualize the present situation. The court process will therefore be a hoax. That is why I think ODM is not ready to go this route. They will loose the case
