The building complex of the Eritrean Community in Khartoum, Sudan, has been renovated and began rendering service.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in which thousands of Eritrean nationals took part, the Eritrean Ambassador to Sudan, Mr. Issa Ahmed Issa, said that the reopening of the building, which remained closed for the past 4 years, attests to the existing good relations between Eritrea and the Sudan, and as such Eritrea would strive to further strengthen this spirit.

He commended the Eritrean citizens living in the Sudan for making due contribution to the endeavors being made by the people and Government of Eritrea in stepping up the development drive and safeguarding the nation's sovereignty.

The chairman of the Resistance Committee, Mr. Beyene Melke, pointed out that the building was renovated through the coordinated efforts of the Eritrean Embassy and Eritrean citizens residing in the Sudan.

The Eritrean Community's cultural troupe staged a musical performance on the occasion in which senior Sudanese government officials were present.
