Cabinda — Angola's National Criminal Investigation Police recently seized a total of Usd 3.2 million dollars in counterfeit bills in Cabinda city, following a raid in the Povo Grand suburb.
The four-member gang of forgers comprising Gustavo Lelo Chala, of Angolan nationality and Tchassa Tchassa, Mário Mabiala and Tembo Dembe (DR Congo citizens), intended to introduce the bills in the market.
Speaking to Angop Wednesday, the provincial director of the Criminal Investigation Police, Oliveira da Silva, said the introduction of such bills into the market would cause a negative repercussion on the national economy.
Oliveira da Silva expressed worry at the amount of counterfeit money, saying the forgers are a gang of dangerous criminals.
