Angola: Conscription of 1990-Born Citizens Starts

Luanda — Military conscription for Angolan male citizens born between January 01 and December 1990 opened Wednesday in the country, going until February 29, 2008.

The information is contained in note from the National Defence Ministry, signed by incumbent minister, Kundi Paihama.

According to the source, the tasks related to the military conscription responds to careful planning, in line with the strategic programming set on the basis of the National Defence requirements.

Eligible citizens are required to produce valid copies of their IDs or birth certificates and four photos, a school or work statement (for students or workers) and residence certificate.

Those resident in the country are to register with the district conscription centres while those living abroad can register with diplomatic and consular missions of Angola.
