Namibe — Angola´s Culture minister Boaventura Cardoso is due to meet Monday in south-west Namibe province with local creators and agents to discuss issues related to the cultural movement in the region.
The meeting between minister Boaventura Cardoso and the artists of the province, scheduled for 6:00 pm, is part of the programme of activities related to the National Culture Events, which started last Sunday, with the opening of an Arts and Culture Fair, as well as the holding of a dance festival.
According to sources from the Ministry of Culture, during the meeting the Angolan Government official will discuss with the local makers of culture their main concerns, programmes and view-points about the current state of the cultural sphere in the region.
In the ambit of the activities linked to the National Culture Day, a regional seminar on Archives and Management and Cultural Organisation is expected to take place on Monday.
Monday's programme will be concluded at 9:00 pm with the screening of the movies "O grande bazar" and "O amor de Mariana", directed by Licínio Azevedo and Alberto Botelho, respectively.
January 08 was declared National Culture Day as a reference to the historical address by the country's first and late president António Agostinho Neto, after the ceremony of swearing-in of the Angolan Writers' Union (UEA) managing bodies, on the same day of 1979.
