Angola: Football - CAF Chairperson Meets Sports Minister

Luanda — The chairman of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Cameroonian Issa Hayatou, met on Monday morning with the Angolan Youth and Sports minister, José Marcos Barrica, with whom he discussed the preparation of the African Nations Cup, scheduled for 2010, to be hosted by Angola.

After the audience, the CAF top official visited the premises of Public Television of Angola (TPA) and the municipal stadiums of Coqueiros and 22 de Junho, which will be used by the national teams that will participate in the final phase of the continental tournament.

On Tuesday, Issa Hayatou will travel to the south-western Benguela Province and on the following day he will head to the northern Cabinda Province, the headquarters of CAN 2010.

Luanda and Huíla are other provinces chosen to be venues for the competition.

On Thursday, the last day of his visit to Angola, the chairperson of the Confederation of African Football will be received in audience by President José Eduardo dos Santos.
