December 2, 2007 was the second anniversary of the Jakaya Kikwete presidency in Tanzania. In a five-year term, two years are significant especially for president who won the election by an 80 per cent majority, and a government that has 90 per cent of the parliamentary seats.
Clearly, President Kikwete had resounding mandate from the first day, provided by the legislature and the people through the ballot box.
